Dental Crowns

After root canal treatment, or when significant decay or damage has occurred to a tooth, a dental crown can be used to restore the appearance and function of the tooth. The second visit can be scheduled whenever you’re ready for the permanent crown to be installed.

At your second appointment, your dentist will likely remove the temporary crown, replace it with the permanent crown, and cement it into place using a special adhesive. Even though it may take some time to adjust to your new dental crown, once you do, it should feel, look, and function just like your natural tooth.

Home whitening gel usually needs to be applied daily for two to three weeks. Over-the-counter kits also are widely available for home use. They provide trays to hold the gel, or whitening strips that stick to your teeth.
